The Power Plant is indicated as Independent Power Producer (IPP) conducting purchase agreement with PLN with 5 MW capacity. Main feedstock will be corn cob or other agricurtural waste provided by local farmers and other wood residues from social forestry. IPP will cooperate with local government’s company (BUMD) to secure feedstock from local communities at zero cost, BUMD wil then get their benefit from selling the animal cornfeed back to farmers for raising pigs and chicken. The intergration of Biomass power plant and animal feed production is seen as solution to reduce poverty in South Nias and provide reliable power to the whole region at the same time.
