AIIA MOU Signing & other Meetings with LPs – Tokyo 2019

Following up Asia Pacific Investors Corporation (APIC)’s World Pension Funds and Social Security Summit held in Tokyo in June 2019, PINA Center for Private Investment along with BPJS Ketenagakerjaan and APIC signed an MoU agreement to enhance the use of investment scheme called ASEAN Infrastructure Investment Alliance (AIIA) Fund in Indonesia. Indonesian Minister of National Development Planning (Bappenas), Mr. Bambang Brodjonegoro witnessed this signing ceremony, along with Bappenas’ Deputy of Infrastructure, Mr. Kennedy Simanjuntak, the Ambassador of Japan to Indonesia, Mr. Arifin Tasrif and delegations from Bappenas and BPJS Ketenagakerjaan.

APIC, as the owner of, initiated the AIIA Fund concept to facilitate the funding of various infrastructure projects in ASEAN countries, especially Indonesia, the Phillipines and Vietnam. Indonesia is the first ASEAN member that will adopt this scheme to further develop the working framework; and to build efficient relationships between parties to form AIIA Fund in Indonesia.

In this collaboration, PINA Center for Private Investment will actively facilitating the process of relationship building, by choosing, providing recommendation and ensure participation of both limited and general partners that are needed in this formation process. Aside from the MoU Signing, the Minister of National Development Planning, Mr. Bambang Brodjonegoro also led series of meetings with numbers of big companies such as Japan Post Bank, Government Pension Investment Fund and Nippon Life Insurance, to discuss any potential collaboration related to infrastructure projects.
